Terron Sims, II is a US Army combat veteran and proud graduate of The United States Military Academy at West Point with over three decades of professional experience and strong relationships throughout the US Army, Department of Defense (DoD), the private and non-profit sector, and the federal and state governments. He is a national security subject matter expert whom military, political, and business leaders readily rely upon.

Mr. Sims deployed to Iraq from May 2003 to July 2004, where he was critical in establishing Baghdad’s provincial government and led the transformation of Baghdad’s Tisa Nissan district (1.25M residents) by establishing governance structures, overhauling municipal systems, and facilitating security and government transition to Iraqi oversight. He served as the primary liaison to the Coalition Provisional Authority (CPA), the United Nations (UN), Baghdad City Hall, and Iraq’s federal government. 

As the Deputy Chief-of-Training for the Joint Readiness Training Center (JRTC) and Fort Polk, Mr. Sims designed and led the pre-development of a $29 Million state of the art urban training village, which was the thesis subject for a graduate student attending the Yale School of Architecture.

Coordinating with Joint Staff, Mr. Sims supported Army Current Operations – tasking the Army’s major commands in support of our nation’s combat operations in the Middle East, Afghanistan, Africa, Latin America, and various overseas and US operations. 

Mr. Sims supported the Assistant Chief-of-Staff of the Army for Installation Management (ACSIM), developing and managing the system that streamlined the Army’s installation requirements budget validation process in preparation for congressional review. 

Working directly with DoD and the service branch leadership, Mr. Sims  developed on time and within budget, DoD’s Sexual Assault Incident Database (DSAID) after the prior vendor had failed to produce the congressionally mandated system.

As a national security subject matter expert, Mr. Sims has been a primary policy writer for and advisor to US Presidents and their senior leaders since 2008. He has collaborated with US Congressional and state government leaders in getting legislation written, passed, and appropriated. Mr. Sims has worked directly with Presidential Senior Advisors and Presidential Appointees in crafting and implementing international deals and defense and veterans policy and programs. 

Mr. Sims was hand-selected by President Obama’s senior advisors, to aid the White House in crafting a strategic marketing plan to secure US Senate votes to ratify The Iran Deal.

In 2013, Mr. Sims authored the Veterans Services and National Security Policy Platforms for the (UK) Labour Party and briefed the latter to Labour’s Shadow Defense Minister and her Shadow Cabinet.

Mr. Sims is a long standing active member of the US Global Leadership Coalition (USGLC) and other defense and national security organizations and sits on the board of various for-profit companies and non-profit organizations, including chairing the board of AHC, Inc, a $1B affordable housing development corporation

Mr. Sims has published two novels: With Honor In Hand and Hands of Honor. He has written several opeds and been featured in countless articles on veterans and military families and national security issues and has appeared on international media.
